Al Thomas of Trustcomm concluded that for the last 20 years, there has been an entire generation of warfighters who have become used to fighting a relatively unsophisticated enemy in what is basically an uncontested environment. They did not have the tools, talents, or ability to jam communications or take out our satellites, or conduct cyber warfare in a military environment. If the adversary is China, however, Thomas said "they have all of the above, [...] and they are one generation behind, if not equal or even ahead [of us]."
