2019 Frank G. Law Award

The Frank G. Law Award, presented annually since 1980, is given to an individual whose longtime dedication and service to the Society is deemed worthy of special recognition. Captain Law was secretary-treasurer of ASNE from 1969 to 1980. In his honor, this award recognizes long-term significant contributions of service to the Society.No one individual has contributed more significantly to the fiscal stability and future direction of the American Society of Naval Engineers this past decade than Rear Admiral Anthony Lengerich. While on the governing Council of the Society, RADM Lengerich was the primary author of the Society's 2016-2021 Strategic Plan which he put into action during his 4-year tenure as President. Through sound fiscal reasoning, thoughtful budgetary planning, and deliberate action to increase revenue and decrease expenses, RADM Lengerich set the Society on positive path for years to come.
