摘要

Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is a fast and sensitive method for the solvent-free extraction and concentration of organic trace compounds from aqueous or gaseous phases by adsorption to a sorbent-coated silica fiber. Recent examples for the application of this new technique reach from the detection of organic pollutants in environmental samples to essential oil and food flavor analysis. This is the first report on the application of SPME to the field of biological signal compounds.
