The United Kingdoms referendum decision to leave the European Union (EU) has now been formally put into action with the triggering of Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union, notifying the EU of the UK's intention to leave. A two-year process of negotiations has begun, to culminate in final withdrawal from the EU in March 2019.
