Have you ever wondered why so many new people are buying catamarans and the cat marketrncontinues to grow in leaps and bounds while, at the same time, the number of people buying monohulls declines year after year? Over the next few issues we would like to take the opportunity to introduce you to some companies that have realized the benefits of catamarans as a business and have introduced their clients to them, clients who had no, or very little, interest in sailing previously and who, usually, had no idea what a catamaran was or how to sail one. The end result is that literally thousands of landlubbers are being introduced to the cat market each and every year and all of us catamaran enthusiasts owe a great deal of thanks to these unsung heroes who are using their own money to promote catamarans.
