2015 Award Winning Novels in Verse: Family Love, Loyalty, and Loss

This year's Newbery Book Medal was awarded to Kwame Alexander for his novel in verse. The Crossover. The Coretta Scott King medal for authors was also awarded to a novel in verse written by Jaqueline Woodson entitled Brown Girl Dreaming. The Crossover was named a Coretta Scott King Honor book as well. Both books are written in the voice of an African-American child.
