Then I asked, "Do you know where they put it?" He replied, "Yes. Why in blue blazes would they do something that dumb?" Bob is an engineer with an aircraft engine manufacturer that is located close to the shop. We have a pretty good relationship so I just said. "Don't ask me, I'm not an engineer." "Okay, point taken," he said and laughed. When I asked Bob if he was sure that the problem was in the starter, he said that he was positive that it would need a starter. He told me that the engine must have backfired when it started the last time because about halfway home it started making a noise in the engine. When he got home he tried the starter again, and it made an awful noise.
