Orders for unit handling conveyor equipment and industrial lift trucks revived a bit in the final quarter of 1998, after stumbling in the third. According to data from the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association, orders for unit handling equipment rose 11.7% between the third and fourth quarters of 1998. Lift truck orders also increased 12.3% over the same period, says the Industrial Truck Association.
