摘要

This paper deals with the application of genetic algorithm for optimizing the parameter of integral controller for automatic generation control (AGC). A two-area reheat thermal system is considered to exemplify the optimum parameter search. The objective of this work is to develop a mathematical model and method of solution in conjunction with the genetic algorithm optimization process. The integral of the square of the error (ISE) performance index is considered in the search for the optimal AGC parameter, A digital computer program to compute the optimal dynamic performance following a step load perturbation has been implemented.
