The purpose of this paper is to study the effect of mass transfer on the three dimensional flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a highly porous medium which is bounded by an infinite flat porous surface under the following conditions: (ⅰ) The fluid is electrically conducting, (ⅱ) A magnetic field of uniform strength is applied in the direction normal to the surface, (ⅲ) The medium is subjected to a periodic suction velocity distribution and its amplitude is assumed to be very small. The solutions for velocity field, temperature and skin friction are obtained in analytical form.
