摘要

The heat transfer characteristics and effect of viscous dissipation on mixed convection flow along a hot infinite plate embedded in a porous medium having periodic permeability variation along horizontal direction parallel to plane of the plate is studied. Assuming the free stream velocity to be uniform along the plate and permeability variation to be small the approximate solutions for the three dimensional flow and heat transfer are obtained, using perturbation method. The velocity components and temperature function are shown graphically against y coordinate where as the perturbed skin friction and Nusselt number are shown graphically against Reynold's number for different values of involved parameters. It is found that both the perturbed skin- friction and Nusselt number increase due to viscous dissipation.
