My wife and I had to make a move in early 2001, not long after I wrote about my HO scale Puffer Bridge Lines for Great Model Railroads 2002. This required me to dismantle and move the railroad. It was an emotionally wrenching experience to tear down the completed layout. My intention at the time was to rebuild it much as it was. I was happy with it, so why change, right? That's where my modeling friends enter the story. They all said, "You've got a great space here. Why not use it?" That night, the railroad took its first step to what it has become today.
