Comments: In the mid-1950s, the New York Central made some revisions to the Association of American Railroads' standard 70-ton hopper plan. The NYC's version proved popular with other roads, making it a common sight in the early diesel era. Bluford Shops' N scale model is a faithful reproduction. Our sample bears a built date of December 1956 and a builder's mark for Greenville Steel Car Co. in Greenville, Pa. This and other tiny printing is opaque and legible under magnification.
