CHANGING MYFORD LATHE BELTS

The machine in the photographs is one of the earlier ML7s, perhaps 60 years old, and differs in some respects from the illustrations in the ML7 handbook. This is partly due to small changes of detail design which were made during the 30-odd years in which these lathes were produced, and partly due to this particular machine's somewhat chequered history.rnIt was acquired by my father in the days when the Shockwaves caused by the Far Eastern imports were only just beginning to reverberate around the country, and a lathe - any lathe, even an old crock - was an expensive acquisition, or so it seemed to us at the time.
