The drawing dimensions are in metric and it is easy to convert into the nearest imperial equivalent. Most of my workshop time of some 60 years has been based around imperial measurements as the machines that I had were imperial. However, when I was made redundant as a technical manager for the main power grid system in New Zealand in 1987 I went into business on my own, using my workshop for machining work. The first two machines I bought were a SN50 Toss lathe and an Abene mill, both of which had 5mm pitch screws which were very easy to read. I also found that it was a lot easier to use metric measurements when cutting bars etc.
