BALANCING GRINDING WHEELS

AII my wheels have been purchased from reputable industrial tool suppliers and all happen to be of Norton manufacture. I checked all possible causes of vibration on my grinding machine and concluded the problems were only wheel related. I decided on a method to mount the wheels and two weights that are position adjustable. Balancing is checked on a parallel bar bench cradle with all adjustments made alongside. The material sizes chosen were to suit all old pieces from the recycle box. The cradle base is about 40 years old and has had many uses prior. However, accuracy of construction has not been compromised. Photograph 1 shows the finished unit.
