MAKING A BOX ANGLE PLATE

Material Start with a lump of continuously cast iron, 80 x 80 x 65mm (obtainable from Metal Supermarkets, Coventry, ref 1, amongst other places) and mill to the overall dimensions shown, with all adjoining faces exactly square to each other. I clamped the workpiece to an angle plate for milling with a Vein. dia. end mill (photo 3). With four faces milled, the remaining two were set up using a square and treated likewise (photo 4).
