Once the spacer and guide bars are machined, the cam bar (10) is machined using a similar marking out procedure. This has a plain turned spigot at the right-hand end, as shown in photo 16, to take the right-hand clamp nut (13); this is held in place with a set-screw, so it is appropriate to file a flat on the bar at an appropriate position. The other end is threaded to take the left-hand clamp nut (13), as seen in photo 17.
