A DIY REPAIR TO A DIRECT ON-LINE STARTER SWITCH

In 2005 my 7 7 year old Warco 220 lathe stopped working. Subsequent investigation revealed that the centre wire from the contactor solenoid had broken where it emerged from the coil. I was therefore faced with the problem of how to repair, or replace, the device. This article details the steps I went through and the decisions I made which resulted in a satisfactory repair.
