We frequently holiday in Wales with Towyn as a centre point for accommodation, roaming in all directions to many favourite spots. These include the beaches/lakes/ railways/chip shops/charity shops and taking photographs of the beautiful scenery. Our holidays are always a pleasure but my thoughts often return to the workshop with all the old or new projects that fill my head. Many a component has been 'designed or machined' as I watch the sea breaking onto the beach, especially in the sunshine. One evening after the shops had closed in Towyn we parked our car outside a charity shop. This particular shop is always worth a look because one corner of its window display is usually kept for mechanical/electrical /measuring/ engineering items from the past. Towards the back my eyes were drawn to piece of hard chrome plated tube with a couple of castings clamped to it. Many other bits and pieces were piled around so it was difficult to see which bits were included. This looked like I had found the holiday's best buy. With my curiosity aroused the shop opening hours were noted ready to return and handle the goods.
