A60 tooth Myford gear would also be fine and give more divisions. The tool was originally made using a Myford ML7 lathe of 1952 manufacture, an old bandsaw and a pedestal drill. It has had a tidy up for this article on a Chinese made mill/drill (photo 1). Photograph 2 shows the indexing mechanism. The lathe gear was found in a scrapyard. Do get a gear in good condition as it is the key to the accuracy of your table. The second-hand bolts also came from the same place. The indexing key is 5／16 inch key steel. The brass bush was found in the scrap brass bin at my local recycling centre. The material for the 5 inch diameter mild steel table and the 6 x 1 inch bright drawn mild steel for the baseplate was obtained from the Eagle and Globe Steel Store from their ends or offcuts bins.
