Lathe Headstock Extension Part 2

It's something that all of us have been guilty of at one time or another - machine abuse! Many of us push our home workshop equipment to do the things they were never designed for, or ever thought capable of doing. How many times have we wished we had just that little bit more swing, saddle travel or extra length to a milling table? Over the years I have seen some amazing out of the box thinking in both the home and professional workshops to gain just that little bit more capacity to get the job done in house. This article describes the design concept and manufacture of a headstock extension to increase the swing of my lathe (left).
