Changing chucks usually creates the problem of where to place or store the removed chuck. Most lathe stands have storage shelves which require the user to bend down which, with a relatively heavy chuck and outstretched arms, is not ideal. The alternative is to place the removed chuck either on a shelf or on the work bench which, in my case, is normally somewhat short on space. Having toured other workshops I suspect this is the case for most model engineers and so I sought an alternative solution.
