A Diamond Disc Grinder for Carbide Tooling

The normal way to sharpen carbide tooling is with a silicon carbide grinding wheel. In recent years diamond and cubic boron nitride wheels have also become available and these are also suitable but they tend to be expensive. I have used diamond edged tile cutting discs to shape tungsten carbide tools freehand using an angle grinder but the result is not very satisfactory because the diamond grit is too coarse and it is difficult to achieve an accurate geometry.
