Transplanting a Vertical Slide

For some unknown reason, it took my fancy to make a set of bending rolls, based on, but in some respects differing from, the C H Thomas design. The endplates needed to be dowelled, and secured to, the base. Not trusting my marking out, or ability to drill such a piece of steel, and being an advocate of co ordinate drilling, these holes had to be made in a piece of steel that was much too long to fit onto the mill/drill.
