The Government must share crucial data with councils to ensure effective coronavirus contact tracing takes place, the Local Government Association (LGA) has said. Care minister Helen Whately wrote to directors of public health in England last week asking them to take charge of COVID-19 testing for staff and residents in care homes. Now, the LGA has urged the^Government to share access to information surrounding coronavirus, including death rates and hospital admittance, by postcode. It said councils could then identify COVID-19 hotspots.
