The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has just published its White Paper Eliminating world poverty: making governance work for the poor which sets out the Government's approach to delivering the promises made at the Gleneagles G8 summit last year. Britain's local authorities have an essential role in helping deliver these promises, says the UK Local Government Alliance for International Development.
