Cuts could tear social care provision apart

Shadow health minister, Emily Thorn-berry, has warned that people might see the 'taking apart of social care', as demand continues to rise and budgets are cut. Speaking to The MJ, Ms Thornberry said adult social care budgets would continue to come under pressure over the next few years, as the coalition's spending cuts took effect. 'The Government cannot make an overall cut in the local government allocation without the biggest area of spending being cut as well,' the shadow minister said.
