Atos gets thumbs down from Islington over benefits tests

Contractor Atos has hit back after Islington LBC passed a motion of no-confidence in its handling of the Government's work capability assessments. The London borough's executive passed the motion after it raised concerns over the number of appeals relating to the employment support allowance (ESA) and the personal independence payment. Of the 108 ESA appeals made by Islington residents in the last 18 months and supported by the local authority, 95 were won.
