County's controversial leader to stand down

Cllr David Parsons was this week forced to stand down as leader of Leicestershire CC, following a rebellion by his local Conservative group. As The MJ went to press on 3 July, Leicestershire's former leader stood down ahead of a possible vote of confidence from within his own party group - paving the way for the election of a new leader within weeks.
