Gavin Kemp bought this Mini from an 80-year-old lady in July 2000 when he was 16. "She wouldn't drive at night or in the rain," recalls Gavin, who couldn't resist a '71 Morris Mini 1100 with two previous owners, 4000 miles on the Cyclops speedo and a price tag of 1700 Aussie dollars (about £680). Keeping this car standard wasn't on the cards. A lot of time and effort has been dedicated to modifying this Mini to a commendable standard, but Gavin hasn't been on his own. With a car painter for a father and a car trimmer for a brother, the Kemp family only needed to contract out the engine and gearbox work. The rest was completed at home.
