It takes quite a commitment over here to modify a Mini into something radical, because a solid Mini - any solid Mini - is worth at least $6,000. Buying and running a Mini in North America is rather like owning a Sixties Lancia or Alfa Romeo in the UK. Minis are rare, foreign, exotic and prized. They're also usually preserved way beyond their natural lives.
