This year's Gaydon Mini Festival started on Saturday afternoon (5 July), with traders and Mini owners making the most of the good weather. But then, as predicted, the heavens opened and Mini fans were grateful for the dry, fun atmosphere inside the Mini Sport party in the museum's swanky boardroom - the pies and chips on offer were popular too. The Texan Peacocks performed for us with songs that encouraged the happy campers onto the dance floor. Afterwards, DJ Dangerous Dave played some top party tunes. We were concerned that rain on the Sunday morning (6 July] would cause a wash-out, but nothing deters Mini owners from a good show and the turnout was great, with many clubs and concours buffers putting up their brollies and enjoying the attractions, including a great autojumble area plus loads of traders and activities for kids. And of course, there was the fantastic museum to explore, with more traders and fun stuff inside, including an audience with the Daleks from Doctor Who! We were glad that the weather didn't exterminate a top weekend.
