The Moke gracing these pages was fast heading down a steepening slope to scrap city with an engine that was thoroughly seized, after sitting unloved in the open on a farm in Medford, Oregon for a couple of decades. But even if a dead Moke has mostly crumbled back into the arms of Mother Nature, the sheet metal can always be remade. It's actually relatively easy to re-manufacture flat Moke panels compared to, for instance, a 1959 Mini. Very early Mini fioorpans were originally hewn from 'unobtainium' and are exactly not the same shape as any other Mini over the next 40 years.
