Last month we showed how a scruffy Mini engine bay could be transformed into something respectable with a morning's work at minimal cost. The improvement was enormous but the overall appearance on this Mini was spoiled by poor paintwork on the engine block. This is easily rectified - painting an engine in situ on a Mini is straightforward and, like the clean-up, can be done very cheaply.rnPainting takes longer than the initial clean, mainly because further cleaning is usually necessary to remove dirt hidden behind the alternator or dynamo and coil and some dismantling is required.
