Well known for their rear-engined mega Minis, Z Cars' facilities also include a V-Tech rolling road dyno and, more importantly, an operator who knows about Minis. So when Trent Valley MOC brought along a goodly selection of cars, the dyno team of Mike Staves, Richard Allanson, Simon Smith, and Aaron Hammond had their work cut out. Alongside the dyno fun, company boss Chris Allanson was busy giving white-knuckle drives in the company's Honda K20 VTEC-powered demonstrator. Everyone who had a go returned wide-eyed and grinning like a loon.rnFor a bit of extra fun, Z Cars dyno'd their own vehicles. The first was the demo Chris had been thrashing all day. Then he wheeled out a diesel-powered Autograss racer. Watching it make over 304lb/ft of torque while trying to lift the front wheels off the dyno bed was fun, and those who got covered in soot still thought it was worth watching.
