This popular annual post-Christmas run is most definitely not for owners who reserve their Minis just for sunny summer Sundays. Fortunately, Mini drivers in the North West are a hardy bunch and the cold drizzle that blew in from the Irish Sea until mid afternoon on Sunday 16 January did little to dampen their enthusiasm. 125 Minis, ranging from a Honda-powered Clubman to an immaculate Elf, snaked their way from the Wirral (the sticky-out bit that separates Liverpool from Wales) to the seaside town of Llandudno, 54 miles west. The event, now in its second decade, included a discounted run up a steep toll road that rises 680 feet to the top of the Great Orme towering over Llandudno.
