Regular readers of MiniWorld will recall our development project from the March 2010 issue to install a distributor-less ignition system to Sheldon's tuned 1014cc A-series engine. The Specialist Components Storm ECU and ignition kit noticeably improved performance over the previous Metro-sourced electronic ignition distributor and coil set-up. Bhp and torque figures were increased across the board while returning an extra 5mpg through improved efficiency. Ignition timing setup became more precise to advance or retard to the exact requirement.
