So, just a few days after receiving the phone call from a close friend, informing me that his motherin-law had arranged for a scrap guy to come and pick up her Mini, I found myself, pen in hand, signing its original logbook. Being an early '80s baby, I'd never seen a vehicle document that old. But, with the necessaries signed, the next job was to arrange collection... Despite the car being just two roads down from where I live, I sadly didn't have the room for any more vehicles. I arranged to store the car at a family member's house in the same town. Being less than a mile away, I must admit a late night tow did cross my mind, but I'm a lawabiding citizen so opted to recruit the help of a local transport company instead.
