For some people, if there isn't an A-Series living under the bonnet then it's not really a true Mini. And, to be fair, that's exactly what Aaron Chalk, AKA Chalky, from Southampton used to think. Until he went over to the 'dark' side and now there's no turning back for him. It's not like he's not had his fair share of A-Series fun either. "My first ever Mini was a standard 1000 which I bought as a project when I was an apprentice. I did the usual things to it like changing the wheels and other bits and pieces on it," remembers Chalky. In fact this is the same ear we are featuring today, some 14 years and several evolutions later.
