We all know the love of Minis is infectious. Jewellery designer Dimitris Huffy Stavropoulos has been a Mini fan for many years, but this lovely Mk2 Cooper doesn't belong to him, it belongs to his father-in-law. Huffy found the car for him, supervised its restoration and now drives it regularly! He told us the history of the car since it was exported, as soon as it left the Longbridge production line, to Greece in 1969: "The car was delivered to the local dealer, Mr Zalmas. He was well known, at that time, not only for his participation in rallies and circuit racing with a Cooper S but also for taking part in the Monte Carlo rally in 1966 and 1967. The car was bought by a family called Meimarides. The family was known in Greek motorsport at that time because of John 'Mavros' Meimarides. He was a very, very good driver. He was known as "Mavros" which means black in Greece. Unfortunately he was killed in his Alfa GTam in the Circuit of Rhodes in 1971."
