Just reading your response to failing sychromesh in second gear [Q&A, Summer 2013], Am I showing my age by suggesting all you need to do is learn to double de-clutch and second gear will cease to be a problem... it's free as well. In my younger days my Mini Van had a tired second gear synchro and funds didn't allow a rebuild so double de-clutching it was. I wonder how many readers know what I am talking about. I loved the article on AA Minis. They are the same colour as mine in the black and white pics (mine was grey).
