Fully restoring a Mini costs thousands of pounds and the worse condition the car is in at the start, or turns out to be once work commences, the more it will cost. In many cases when a budget is worked out at the beginning, based on what seemed to be needed to be done, the end result is close to double the original figure. One of the biggest expenses is welding and new panels. This can be kept to a minimum by carrying out the work yourself but not everyone is able to, or wants to, do this.
