Anna's Run

Feeling a little glum as Autumn began to set in, Minis of Tiverton member, Anna Barrow, decided to do something about the club's rather sparse event calendar. On Sunday 4 October the Minis took one last trip to the seaside before hunkering down for hibernation. Anna said: "We hadn't done a run to South Devon for a few years. Slapton seemed like a good plan due to twisty roads, stunning sea views on the drive there and a beach to play on. The car park at Slapton also has parking spaces right alongside the seafront." Eight Minis were lucky with the weather as they hit the roads after meeting at Cullompton and driving down through Dartington, Totnes, Halwell, Strete and finally on to Slapton and Torcross. Anna added: "We took a picnic and spent a few hours playing on the beach. We played a stick throwing game called Kubb, giant Jenga and flew kites on the beach before driving past Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and on to Torcross to have a look at the Sherman tank pulled out of the sea following the Exercise Tiger disaster in WW2."
