Some of the Innocenti-manufactured Minis are regarded as the Italian equivalent of a British Cooper but with a cheaper price tag and a mouthwatering specification. But they are fast becoming collectable as the last of the Innocenti Minis, for instance, was powered by an Austin 1300GT/Cooper S-derived 1275cc. They had Cooper S disc brakes at the front, quarter-lights for the doors and a bank of six impressive instrument gauges across the LHD dashboard (the first Mini to have a standard rev-counter). According to the Mini Cooper Register, 28,200 of these models were manufactured. For taxation reasons, final trim assembly of some bodyshells was carried out at the Seneffe factory in Belgium.
