I am a member of a Mini club and borrowed my father-in-law's Mini for shows. I wanted my own and saw what I thought was the one for me on eBay. It was at the right price and fairly local. There was only an hour or so left to run on the auction so I did some Googling and found it was clean and had virtually no advisories for the last four to five years (2014: body has slight corrosion). It was advertised as a 1978 modified Speedwell conversion with two months' MOT to run and "lovely to drive and any inspection is welcome." Time was ticking so I couldn't inspect it so I put a bid on it, it lost but I was contacted via the second chance option and I won it.
