Restoring a Mini will, virtually without exception, involve welding repairs to the underside and floor areas. If the repair work is limited to the sill and outer floor areas it is possible to jack up the car and make the repairs from the side. When more extensive surgery is required, and the car has to be stripped to the bare shell, the easiest way to tackle the repair is to spin the shell on a rollover jig as this massively improves access to all of the underside, not to mention making carrying out the work much more comfortable. This, in turn, makes it easier to do a better job of the repairs and to spot areas that could be missed when working in cramped, uncomfortable conditions.
