I bought a 1971 Mini 1000 a few months ago and am currently restoring it. A good friend was so impressed by my Mini that he has also bought a Mini himself, also a 1971. I wonder if you could settle an argument. My Mini has the ignition switch in the centre of the dashboard. My friend's Mini has it on the steering column, together with the indicator and wiper stalks. Mine only has an indicator stalk and the wipers are on the dash with the ignition. He claims his is correct because he read in an old copy of MiniWorld that the ignition was moved to the column from October 1970. If so has my car been fitted with older parts?
