Somerset Recycling Inc, (SRSI), a recycling company based in Somerset, Kentucky, has recently expanded into new markets in an effort to diversify its sales and customer base. Primarily buying and selling Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) and Polyethylene, SRSI has begun concentrating some of its energy and efforts into toll processing, grinding and densification, as well as increasing its buying and selling of other polymers. "A tough economy provides an excellent opportunity for growth and expansion. Increasing our market share during this time is critical to our long term success and longevity," stated owner Steve Keck. SRSI been family owned and operated since 1984. Currently, SRSI processes about 100 million pounds of material per year. Employing approximately 80 employees allows Keck to achieve his mission "to operate in an ethically and morally sound manner, while helping the environment, and providing jobs all in the spirit of philanthropy."
