2006 WASHINGTON AWARD RECIPIENT

Dr. Henry Petroski, Aleksandar S. Vesic Professor of Civil Engineering and Professor of History at Duke University, has been selected as the recipient of the 2006 Washington Award for his promotion of the understanding of engineering through his writing. Dr. Petroski is a an accomplished author whose books and articles are and have been read by millions of people all over the world, including readers of the November/December 1992 issue of Midwest Engineer in which his article "The Anonymous Profession" was reprinted with his permission and more recently the November/December 2004 issue in which his book Small Things Considered was reviewed.
